Andrew "Andy" Hansen, 87, of Lynnfield, died on Wednesday, August 6 at the Blueberry Hill Healthcare Rehabilitation in Beverly.
Born in Fitchburg on February 20, 1921, he was the son of the late Thomas and Anna (Pedersen) Hansen.
Mr. Hansen was a graduate of Fitchburg High School, Class of 1941. He was a Coast Guard Veteran of WWII and a retired machinist for Kayem Foods in Chelsea. Mr. Hansen was also a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Lynnfield.
Mr. Hansen is survived by his wife, Margaret A. "Peggy" (Thomas) Hansen, his daughter, Debbie J. Moreton of Danvers, his son, Stephen S. Hansen and his wife Maria of Vestal, NY, his sister, Laura Allen of Leominster, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hansen was predeceased by his son Edward "Ted" Hansen and many brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 127 Summer St., Lynnfield on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends may call at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Charity of one's choice.
