Mrs. Ellen "Verdie" (Kanaris) Andros, age 82, of Lynn, died Sunday, July 27, 2008, in a local nursing home, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late James S. Andros.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Costas and Diana (Samaris) Kanaris.
She was raised in Watertown and was a graduate of Watertown High School. She had lived in Lynn for over 60 years.
Mrs. Andros enjoyed bowling and BINGO. She adored her grandchildren.
She is survived by 4 daughters; Diane Donahue, and her husband Tom, of Lynn, Mary Clarke, and her husband John, of Harwich, Cynthia Worthylake, and her husband Jerry, of Lynn and Carol Cahill, and her husband Tom, of Peabody, 8 grandchildren; Thomas and James Donahue, James and Christine Clarke, Ashley and Alicia Worthylake, and Samantha and Andrew Cahill.
Her Funeral will be held on Thursday at 11am in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hour's in the Solimine Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home 426 Broadway (RTE129), Lynn, Wednesday 4-8PM.
