   John Edward Carlucci, 53, of Malden and formerly of Everett and Cambridge, died early Tuesday morning at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Everett, he was the loving and devoted son of Anthony R. Carlucci of Peabody and the late Rosemarie C. (Barletta) Carlucci. He was raised in Everett and later lived in Cambridge and for the past 10 years, he has lived in Malden.

John was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and recieved his BA in History. He was an independent writer who wrote for men's health magazines. He also was a prolific reader and enjoyed medievil history.

Besides his loving father, John is survived by a brother Dick and his wife Debbie Carlucci of Marstons Mills, his beloved two nieces, Atty. Amy Carlucci-Harrison of Roswell, GA, and Atty. Michele Carlucci of Wakefield, he is also survived by several cousins, aunts and uncles.

His funeral service will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
