Mrs. Margaret J. "Jackie" (Rhoades) Kerstetter, 68 years, of Peabody, died in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, on Sunday, August 24, 2008, after a brief illness. She is the wife of Wilbur E. "Will" Kerstetter. She was born in Waterville Maine, the daughter of the late Don and Evelyn (Jenkins) Rhoades. She was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of St. Mary's Girls High School, class of 1957. She has lived in Peabody since 1971.
Jackie was a member of the Daughters of Isabel and once served as its president. She was also active in St. Ann's Church in Peabody, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, a CCD teacher and a member of the choir. She was an avid reader and loved to travel.
Jackie was a library aide and served in the South Peabody Branch for 10 years leaving in 1998. Prior to that she worked as a bookkeeper for the former Essex Trust.
In addition to her husband with whom she shared 44 years of marriage she leaves; a son William E. Kerstetter of Houston, TX ; four grandchildren, Danielle Kerstetter of Houston, Chelsea Kerstetter of Dallas, TX, Kaitlyn Kerstetter of Dallas, TX and Alex Kerstetter of Dallas, TX; a brother, Harold Jenkins and a sister, Donna Moreno both of Lecanto, FL. She leaves her nieces Beth, Chris and Mindy, and her aunt Muriel Doucette of South China, Maine. She is the mother of the late Katherine I. Kerstetter, who died in February.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. from the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rte 129) Lynn, followed by a funeral mass in St. Ann's Church, Peabody at 9:00 a.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01923 or the North Shore Center, 17 Centennial Drive, Peabody, MA 01960.
