   Mrs. Marjorie M. (Gibbons) Willey, of Brooksby Village in Peabody and formerly of Melrose, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 6, 2008 at Lynn Union Hospital. She was 86 years old.

Marjorie was born in Sydney, Australia on April 8, 1922, a daughter of the late John C. Gibbons and Gladys (Russell-Jones) Gibbons.

Born and raised in Australia, Marjorie married her husband, Clive, in 1944 and emigrated to the United States together in 1946. They originally lived in Allston and moved to Melrose to raise their three daughters.

Mrs. Willey was an avid bridge player, loved knitting and crafts, and especially enjoyed watching very old movies. During her leisure time, she played tennis, enjoyed swimming and animals, and loved traveling to Pennsylvania, Canada, England and Australia.

Marjorie was the beloved wife of the late Clive S. Willey with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. Loving mother of Lyn G. Willey and Rae M. Willey both of Melrose, and Sue P. Busiek and her husband, William of Marblehead. Dear sister of the late Eric D. Gibbons and John H. Gibbons. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Cherished grandmother of Elizabeth Busiek of Chicago and Kimberly Busiek of N. Andover.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Friday, August 8 from 5-7 PM. Interment will be held privately. Gifts in Marjorie’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham 01701.
