<p>Leland D. Conti, Sr. “Lee”, 77, of Beverly, died on Wednesday, May 29th. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Attilio and Gladys (Samuelson) Conti.</p> <p> </p> <p>Lee received a Master’s in Education from Boston University. His career spanned over three decades as a High School educator in the town of Avon, and teaching students how to drive at Thayer Academy in Braintree. His favorite time was spent when surrounded by family and enjoying a meal, playing with his grandchildren, getting a cup of coffee, watching football, going to the North End in Boston, and seeing a ball game at Fenway Park. He enjoyed traveling, the Nutcracker Suite, swing music and dancing, and going to the gym. He was very passionate about U.S. politics and supporting America, having proudly served in the Coast Guard during the Vietnam War.</p> <p> </p> <p>Lee is survived by one son, Leland Conti Jr. and his wife, Kristina of Beverly, two daughters, Stephanie Souza, and her partner Todd Costa, of Rhode Island, Maria Mathieu and her husband, Brian, of New Jersey; one brother, James Conti of South Carolina; and five grandchildren (soon to be six with another Conti boy in June), Leland Conti III, Jeffrey Souza, Lillian Costa, Maggie Mathieu, and Jackson Mathieu. He deeply cherished his family and showered them with unconditional love.</p> <p>His funeral service will be at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Monday, June 17th at 11am. </p> <p> </p> <p>Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Peabody. Arrangements by Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly.
